Characteristics: It is a transparent,water-insoluble liquid with almond-like odor.It belongs to the toxic,organic nitriles with strong dissolving power.Density()1.008,Boiling point 190.7,Freezing Point-12.75,Refractive index()1.5298,Viscosity(0) 1.9410-3 Pa.s ,It is miscible with common solvents.

Major Application:
1.Preparation of benzoguanamine,synthesis of pesticides,intermediats of aliphatic amine and benzoic acid;solvent,antioxidant,solvent and additives for dyestuff,etc.
2.The quality of melamine plastic may be greatly improved by preparing benzoguanamine from benzonitrile and dicyandiamide under alkali conditions.Benzoguanamine may be further processed into benzoguanamine resin for coatings,adhesives laminated board and moulding materials.
3.Benzonitrile may be processed into benzoyl amide after hydrolysis and further processed into benzoic acid used as plasticizer,organic intermediate of coatings and polymers.
4.Benzyl amine used as intermediate of pharmaceuticals,can be prepared by the reduction of benzonitrile.
5.Benzonitrile is emulsified with nonionic sufactant and its emulsion may be applied as dyeing additives.

BENZOGUANAMINE

Chemical name: 2.4-diamino-6-phenyl-s-Triazine.
Chemical Constitution:

Alternative name: benzoguanamine
Characteristics:

White crystalline powder. As it is a compound by the substitution of one amino group of melamine with a phenyl group,so its characteristics is similar to melamine.It is a weakly alkaline and can undergo addition with formaldehyde.

Major Application:

1.For preparing butylated and methylated benzoguanamine resin;as crosslinking agent of alkyd and acrylic resin in baking coatings.
2.The methylol compound of benzoguanamine,may be mixed with urea-formaldehyde,phenol and melamine formaldehyde resins for preparing moulding materials.
3.Main component of fluorescent pigment.
4.Reinforcing agent for fiber and paper.
5.Crosslinking agent for vehicle used in decorative board.
6.Thickener for adhesives and heat resistant lubricants.
7.Raw material for plastics and pharmaceuticals.
